Reels Editing Workflow Skills Kit — Installation Guide

This pack includes 5 ready-to-use Claude Skills that turn a raw video idea into an edit-ready plan:

1. script-to-shotlist — script → shot-by-shot filming list
2. b-roll-planner — suggests supporting footage per script section
3. caption-timing-planner — plans on-screen text/caption placement
4. transition-and-cta-planner — plans transitions and CTA placement
5. capcut-edit-checklist — turns the above into a step-by-step CapCut checklist

Suggested order: use them in the sequence above, in one conversation — each skill's output feeds the next (script → shotlist → B-roll → captions → transitions → final edit checklist).

Installing — Claude Code (on your computer / terminal)

A) User-level (works in every project)

mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills
cp -r skills/* ~/.claude/skills/

Restart Claude Code — all 5 skills are now available automatically.

B) Single-project level

Copy the same folders into <your-project>/.claude/skills/ instead, if you only want them in one project.

Using with claude.ai / Claude Desktop

Settings → Capabilities/Skills → Upload each skill folder (or its SKILL.md file).

Using with ChatGPT

Each SKILL.md's content below the --- frontmatter works as ChatGPT instructions:

As a Custom GPT: Explore GPTs → Create → Configure. Paste one skill's instructions per GPT, or combine all 5 into one GPT's instructions if you want a single "Reels Editing Assistant" GPT.

Without Custom GPT access: paste the instructions at the start of a new chat, then provide your script.

Do I need CapCut specifically?

No — the planning skills (1-4) are editor-agnostic. Only the final skill (capcut-edit-checklist) is CapCut-specific, and it describes actions in general terms since CapCut's interface changes between versions — you can adapt the same checklist to any editor.
